Photographing Kids at the Park

Loveland Sports Park in Loveland, Colorado

Winter in Loveland has been super all over the place and honestly not exactly the snow-filled Winter we were hoping for. However, the whacky weather has allowed for many more park days and outdoor trips than we normally get this time of year.

My boys love to go to the park and just run off some energy. Running around in your own yard doesn’t always cut it. This little park not too far from us has become our go-to place to unwind. More times than not we are basically the only ones there, which makes for a happy Mama. I can really relax then, too. Going to the park can be a bit overwhelming if I am having to keep up with 3 different kiddos going 3 different directions. Anyone with multiples I’m sure can relate. So it’s nice to have free reign of the park so my goofs can go wild.

If you have followed me for a little while, or even if you just look back at previous blog posts, I’m pretty obsessed with taking photos of my kids. They are changing so fast. When my oldest was little, I had not picked up photography yet. And I can’t tell you how much it breaks my heart that I don’t have all the photos when he was little (besides phone photos) like I do with my other two. I can honestly say every single photo of my kids is something I will cherish forever. Every. Single. One. I love capturing them just being them. They have such silly, fun personalities and their features are changing daily. i want to capture it all.

So, here again, are photos of my children. Being wild and crazy at the park on a beautiful Winter day in Colorado.

My oldest is already 8 going on 13. He will occasionally allow me to take a few photos. Sometimes he smiles. Sometimes he makes silly faces. And sometimes he just looks annoyed. I just appreciate the fact that he still allows me to take his photos. So I will cherish any and all attitudes he gives me. ;)
